Display expression / Display inverse expression

Steps

When you specify a display expression, the string obtained through evaluation by the display expression will be displayed on the table window / properties window.

A display inverse expression is valid when a display expression is specified, and it specifies an expression so that values may be input in the property for which the display expression was specified.

The relationship between display expression and display inverse expression is equivalent to that between virtual property expression and virtual property inverse expression.

You may specify display expression and display inverse expression in the "General" tab of the "Edit property definition" dialog.

Examples

 display expressionINPUT+'container'
   OR
  ME.Qty+'container'
display inverse expressionFindNumberL( INPUT, 1 )

* INPUT in a display expression / display inverse expression refers to the value of the property for which the display expression / display inverse expression is specified.

* A display inverse expression, unlike a virtual property inverse expression, is not an assignment expression.

Display on a chart by display expression

Use the Display/Str function when you want to display on a chart in the expression specified in the display expression.

For example, specify to the DisplayStr parameter the property for which the display expression was specified, e.g.,

DisplayStr(ME.Order.Qty)

as in the use instruction bar text expression of the resource Gantt chart.
