Connection lines indicate pegged objects.
When the bars in the time chart such as resource gantt chart or order gantt chart are clicked, the connection lines are displayed.
The connection lines can be selected by setting “Edit peg objects” (bar tab) to “Yes”.
Connection line style
You can specify the type of connection lines from the property "Connection line style" in the Bar tab of the display settings.
Displays connection lines with three-dimensional horizontal and vertical lines. Time constraint violations and so on will be shown in different colors.
Connection lines within an order are displayed in blue, and those between orders in pink.
Connection lines are displayed in red for time constraint violations, and in orange for constraint MAX violations.
Displays connection lines with diagonal lines.
Since a reverse display is used for this mode, connection lines will be drawn at high speed but the status such as time constraint violations and so on cannot be determined from the look of the connection lines.
Connection lines within an order will be displayed in thick lines, and those between orders in thin lines.
You can add pegs from the right-click popup menu on the work bar for orders, operations, tasks, and the like.
You can also add pegs from the right-click popup menu above use instruction bars.
You can change and delete pegs from the right-click popup menu above the connection lines of the Gantt chart.
You can specify the target for which to display connection lines from the property "Objects for which to show connection lines" in the Bar tab of the display settings.
Does not display connecting lines.
Currently pointed object
Displays connection lines when the mouse is pointed to one of the bars.
Last selected object
Displays connection lines when one of the bars is clicked. Even if you select multiple bars, connection lines will be shown only for the bar you selected last.
Displays a connection line when one of the bars is clicked. If you select multiple bars at the same time, connection lines will be displayed for all the bars you selected.
Note, however, that connection lines will be displayed for up to 50 selected objects. When you select more than 50 objects, part of the connection lines will not be displayed.
Peg line nest count
When pegging lines are displayed on a chart (as when an operation or order is selected) the level to which connected pegging should be display can be set.
The pegging line nest count can be set in the following ways:
|1||Right click popup menu of a bar on the chart (Peg display submenu)|
|2||By setting the 'Peg line nest count' property of the chart settings (Bar tab).|
This value can be set from 1 to 50.
When using the first of these methods, the effect will be the same as that of the second method.
For example, when this setting is given as 1, the result will be as shown below.
The current nest level setting is shown by the check mark in the submenu.
(If the setting given in the property window is not on the popup menu, the check mark will not be shown.)
Nest count when orders are selected
When an order is selected, the count of peg levels will be the count of pegs between orders. When an operation, task or use instruction is selected, the count will be of all pegs, whether within an order or between orders.
For example, as shown below when the nest count is set to 3, and an order is selected (Order05) the peggings displayed will extend to three orders away. Even though the operations inside Order05 are displayed and have pegging lines showing, these will not be counted as part of the nesting level.
On the other hand, if an operation within Order05 is selected, the nest counting includes any peg line. In this case the peg lines displayed will only go as far as Order04.
Tooltip text and status bar text
When the mouse is held over a connection line, a tooltip will display information about the pegging that the line represents. The status bar will also show similar information.
Tooltip display and status bar display are possible whether the line is a 3D line or a diagonal line.
(This feature was added from Ver. 6.2.0.)
The contents of the tooltip and status bar text can be modified by the
Connection line tooltips expression
Connection line status bar expression
properties in each chart (under the Bar tab).
When multiple connection lines overlap
When the mouse is over a position where multiple connection lines exist, the pegging object with the smallest object ID will be used for the tooltip and status bar text information.
When the mouse is over other types of object (eg. operation bar or EST marker) as well as a connection line, the connection line will take priority for the tooltip and status bar display.
