Q: What is the sequence for production scheduling?

A: The order in which production scheduling is done would be as follows.

1)  Input the BOM (bill of materials).
2)   Input the manufacturing order.
3)  Refer to the BOM develop the manufacturing order process and build the network.
4)  In the sequence in which work is specified by planning parameters allocate each resources based on the BOM.

The method of allocation in 4) has already been explained it is theory of constraints scheduling. It takes the load of all materials in the plant (machinery personnel tool) into consideration and allocates the jobs to the resources. The result is to allocate all work by theory of constraints to resources making a production schedule that reduces production lead-time.
